York Builders Association to Kick Off Construction Career Day Events
YORK, PA – Skilled labor in residential construction is a commodity in short supply and the York Builders Association (YBA) is looking to change that by launching their first annual Construction Career Day events on April 16, 17 & 18. The objective of the program is to build awareness among high school students about the diverse career opportunities available to them locally in the construction industry.
YBA Selected to Adopt Construction Career Day Event
In April of this year, the York County Economic Alliance (YCEA) launched its pilot event, Construction Career Day, in cooperation with Stewart & Tate and an area high school. The program was developed to mirror YCEA’s successful Manufacturing Days program, which started in 2015. The York Builders Association’s Board of Directors have approved the request for YBA to adopt the Construction Career Day event.
Association to Focus on Career Awareness for Building Industry
The York Builders Association Board of Directors recently approved the creation of a volunteer committee to focus on career awareness in the trades, developing resources and strengthening career advising.? Our hope is to achieve more skilled workers to fill the jobs of today and tomorrow.
