The YBA Workforce NOW Foundation is proud to announce Ed Hesson as its new Board President, serving a two-year term from January 2026 through December 2027.
Ed’s leadership is a natural next step in a journey that began long before the Foundation was officially formed. He served on the original Workforce NOW Committee from 2018 to 2022 and became a charter member of the Foundation Board when it was established. Since then, he has served as Secretary and Vice President, helping shape the Foundation’s early growth and long-term vision.
A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Business Management and minors in accounting and economics, Ed currently serves as a Commercial Loan Officer for Traditions Bank, A Division of ACNB Bank, where he has worked for 18 years. His professional background provides strong financial insight and strategic perspective to support the Foundation’s continued expansion.
Beyond his professional experience, Ed is deeply committed to serving the York community. He is a graduate of Leadership York and has supported numerous local organizations including UPMC (Memorial Hospital), United Way of York County, the Eastern York County Branch YMCA, York County Council of Churches, York Arts, York Day Early Learning, and DreamWrights Center for Community Arts. He also serves on the membership committee for Associated Builders and Contractors, Keystone Chapter.
Looking Ahead
As President, Ed’s goals focus on strengthening the Foundation’s long-term sustainability and impact. His priorities include:
- Establishing dependable, multi-year funding partnerships
- Expanding corporate sponsorship engagement
- Growing active working committees that support and amplify the Foundation’s mission
“Ed has been part of Workforce NOW since day one,” said Melissa Longenberger, Executive Director of the YBA Workforce NOW Foundation. “His leadership, financial insight, and strong community connections position us well for continued growth and long-term impact.”
Under Ed’s leadership, the Foundation will continue building strong industry partnerships while creating meaningful opportunities for students and job seekers to explore careers in construction and the skilled trades.
The Workforce NOW Foundation’s programs, including Construction Career Days and the Building Trades Pre-Apprenticeship Program, are helping shape the future of York County’s workforce. With Ed at the helm, that momentum continues.
