Build Your Future: Apply for a YBA Workforce NOW Foundation Scholarship by April 1st

The YBA Workforce NOW Foundation offers Trades and Tool Scholarships for York County high school seniors pursuing careers in the construction trades.

The York Builders Association (YBA) Workforce NOW Foundation is committed to helping students turn their interest in building, creating, and problem-solving into successful careers. Each year, the Foundation awards multiple scholarships to support the next generation of skilled trade professionals.

If you’re a York County high school senior planning a career in the construction trades, or the child of a YBA member, there’s a scholarship opportunity waiting for you.

All applications are due by April 1st each year.

Apply for a Scholarship

1. Trades Scholarship

The YBA Workforce NOW Foundation Trades Scholarship supports high school seniors who plan to continue their education through a trade or technical school, apprenticeship, or registered training program focused on the construction industry.

Each year, the Foundation typically awards up to three Trades Scholarships to local students preparing for hands-on careers in fields like carpentry, electrical, HVAC, masonry, or plumbing.

Who Is Eligible:

  • Must be a high school senior (students already in post-secondary programs are not eligible)
  • Must plan to enroll in a post-secondary institution or program focused on the construction trades

2. Tool Scholarship

The YBA Workforce NOW Foundation Tool Scholarship provides financial assistance to help graduating students purchase tools and equipment as they begin their journey in the skilled trades.

This scholarship supports York County, PA high school seniors who plan to build a career in the trades after graduation.

Who Is Eligible:

  • Must be a high school senior graduating from a York County high school
  • Must plan to pursue a career in the skilled trades
  • Students already enrolled in post-secondary education or full-time employment are not eligible

3. YBA Member Scholarship (For Members’ Families Only)

The YBA Member Scholarship is a special benefit available only to dependents of York Builders Association members or employees of member companies in good standing.

While this scholarship does not require applicants to pursue a career in the trades, it reflects YBA’s ongoing commitment to supporting its member community and their families.

Who Is Eligible:

  • Dependents (or grandchildren) of YBA members or employees of member companies
  • Students can attend any high school, not just those in York County
  • Typically, up to three Member Scholarships are awarded each year
