As Executive Director of York Habitat for Humanity, Natasha Kukorlo understands better than most how skilled trades can transform lives. Through her role on the board of the YBA Workforce NOW Foundation, she’s helping to empower the next generation of trades professionals, connecting purpose with opportunity.
Why She Got Involved:
Natasha joined the Foundation to help educate younger generations about the importance of the trades and the viability of skilled trade careers. She sees the work as essential, not just for individual success, but for building stronger communities.
What Drives Her Passion:
“Encouraging young people to consider careers in the skilled trades not only supports workforce sustainability but also aligns deeply with Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes and empowering communities,” Natasha explains.
Why Skilled Trades Matter:
For Natasha, the value of trades careers is personal and immediate.
“Skilled trades don’t just pay the bills, they provide purpose. Electricians, carpenters, plumbers, and masons are the reason families move into safe, affordable homes. Skilled trades offer hands-on work, competitive pay, and immediate impact. At Habitat, we see the difference every day.”
Why She Supports the Foundation:
“Supporting the YBA Workforce NOW Foundation means investing in the future of our local workforce; connecting young people with high-demand career opportunities in the building trades that strengthen both families and our community. By empowering the next generation of skilled professionals, we’re ensuring York’s economy and neighborhoods continue to thrive.”
We’re incredibly grateful to have Natasha Kukorlo as part of our board. Her experience, leadership, and passion for the trades help fuel our mission to build a stronger future, one student (and one home) at a time.
