SUMMARY:2026 Building Trades Career Fair
DESCRIPTION:The YBA Workforce NOW Foundation is hosting a Building Trades Career Fair for high school students on October 28\, 2026\, at the Wyndham Garden York from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. \nNEW THIS YEAR: STUDENT SEMINARS\nWe are excited to offer students three seminar options designed to help them explore careers and prepare for their future in the building industry. \nEVENT DETAILS\nHigh school students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths in the building trades and connect directly with local employers. \nEmployers will share information about career opportunities\, training programs\, and apprenticeships\, while showcasing hands-on activities\, tools of the trades\, and equipment. \nSchools can REGISTER HERE as a group and select their preferred time slot to attend. \n\nTENTATIVE SCHEDULE\n9:00 AM – 10:00 AM\nCareer Fair – Block One \n10:00 AM – 11:00 AM\nStudent Seminars – All Students \n11:00 AM – 12:00 PM\nCareer Fair – Block Two \n\nEMPLOYER PARTICIPATION\nThis event is open to all YBA members. While there is no registration fee\, we kindly request a donation to the Workforce NOW Foundation in lieu of a registration fee. Please use the Business Registration link below to reserve your space. \nNEW: SEMINAR PRESENTERS\nBusinesses and industry professionals are invited to sign up to present during one of three student seminars. Seminar topics and additional details are provided during registration. \nPresenters may be paired with professionals from other areas of the building industry to co-present or participate in a panel discussion. \n\nWe encourage businesses to bring employees and team members who can engage with students and share their personal experiences working in the building trades\, alongside HR staff.\nBusinesses are welcome to offer hands-on experiences and demonstrations.\nVehicle and equipment displays are also welcome; however\, parking lot space is limited.\n\nBUSINESS REGISTRATION \nOur goal is to create an engaging and immersive experience where students can see\, hear\, and experience firsthand the many career opportunities available throughout the building industry. \n     \nSPONSORS \n \nFunded in part by a Career Connections grant through the Skilled Labor Fund and the National Housing Endowment \n
